Landisville Mennonite Church
Pastoral Leadership Support Plan

Purpose Statement

The Mennonite Church continues to be in significant need of pastoral and church leadership. Local Mennonite congregations as well as the Mennonite seminaries are in the process of attempting to address this need. Our Landisville congregation has several members pursuing educational objectives that relate to church leadership. In response to the need and interest in the area of pastoral/church leadership our congregational goal is being revisited.

Congregational Goal (Nurture # 4)

Assumption: Landisville is committed to leadership development within the congregation.

Goal: To have on an ongoing basis, at least one person involved in church leadership development…and to do leadership training at all levels of congregational life.

Methodology #1: The congregation will identify and support persons for church leadership and development.

Methodology # 2: Interested and gifted members will be given opportunities to test and develop leadership abilities in the congregation, i.e. song leading, worship leading, preaching, teaching, etc.
