Calling

I did not have much of a church life growing up, yet seemed to be attracted to God. Many times in my wild days I would share with others that relationship with God was important for success in life. There was not a lot of evidence that I lived by those principles, however. On December 24, 1984 I had an experience with God that changed my life. From that day on I have lived surrendered to God's direction for my life. I never really set out to be in the ministry, just to obey God as he assigned things to me to do. After resigning from my position at Word Ministries in 1993, I had no plans of returning to ministry. Yet the desire burned deep within me. After completing my first year at EMS my husband and I planted River of Life Ministries (1996). My husband was the most influencial person in helping me make the decision to re-enter minstry. His support of me being a pastor has helped me overcome the hurdles that come with the ministry. Also my passion to help people connect with God never went away even during the years I did not pastor. I seemed to always pastor even when I did not have a church.

Ideal Ministry

I love seeing people get to know God.I mean really get to know Him. I love seeing people who enter into an authentic experience with Him. I believe I have the ideal ministry situation. I love pastoring River of Life Ministries. The people there are my family. They are real people doing the best they can to serve their God and one another.

EMS Comments

I have loved my 13 years at EMS. Being on the slow track allowed me to see things change over time. We should be proud of our Seminary. I found the people there are experts in their field, loving and supportive. I never felt like an outsider.

Favorite Course

I do not have a favorite course. Each one served a specific purpose. The spiritual direction courses were the most helpful to me personally. This taught me about being self-aware as a ministering person. They also helped me learn how to take care of myself.

Thoughts for Someone in My Position

Seminary has not only helped train me for the ministry, it has helped me on my personal Journey with God. If you have the opportunity to attend Seminary it will benefit you in many ways.
