We cannot help thanking God and all those involved in making the ceremony a great success in many ways. Some of you know the complicated process which we went through to receive permission to have our wedding there. When we walked down the isle, it was like a miracle coming true. This was the first wedding ever at this monument (and, after what we went through, probably the last!). It took us 1 year and the help of a "mysterious friend" in the mayor's office to get permission (and even then, it was nothing concrete!) By the day of the wedding, however, it seemed like everyone who may have seemed to us like an obstacle, were on our side. The wedding ceremony went very smoothly and we have many fond memories of that special hour.

The "rinfresco"

Immediately following the ceremony all those present at the wedding were invited to join us at "La Matriciana" (about 15-20 min. from the ) for hourd'auvres, refreshments and drinks. "La Matriciana" is a small resort along the coast near the city of Palermo. We had a wonderful time socializing with our friends from Italy, Switzerland, and USA. There were approximately 250 people present for this first reception.

The dinner at "Ristorante Mongerbino"

We shared the final part of our day with our family and the friends who have been the closest to us throughout the years. Great food. Great fun. Great memories. We had a wonderful time. The after-ceremony events were planned by Maurita Eberly and Daniela Minder. They did a wonderful job of making the evening flow well. Between courses, we were entertained by friends with music, skits, slide show, poetry dedication, stories, and much more. Thanks to all who participated in one way or another.
