Remembering the 2007 Spring Break Y-Trips

Jubilee Partners – Comer, Georgia

Mennonite Disaster Service – New Orleans, Louisiana

Participants to New Orleans worked with Mennonite Disaster Service , a ministry affiliated with Mennonite Church USA, that coordinates disaster relief and rebuilding efforts. There were simple accommodations but plenty of physical labor and time to get to know the stories of this hurricane devastated area (and Conservative Mennonites).

Camden, New Jersey

This trip focused on learning from area churches, organizations and communities such as The Simple Way and Camden House . Special attention and focus was given to issues of faith and poverty, especially in inner cities. In addition, participants lived in a church activity center, learned to use public transportation, and got to know Philadelphia.
