MISSION & OUTCOMES FOR EMU CAMPUS MINISTRIES

MISSION STATEMENT FOR EMU CAMPUS MINISTRIES
In partnership with the movement of God and with Jesus as our guide, campus ministries actively extends hospitality, intentionally facilitates faith formation, carefully mentors students for leadership development and compassionately nurtures healing and hope among all members of the EMU campus community. OUTCOMES FOR CAMPUS MINISTRIES (Working DRAFT, February 2008)

1. EMU students explore their values & beliefs related to religious faith.

2. EMU students engage the the integration of Christian faith in their learning.

3. EMU students experience growth (deepening) in faith formation/spiritual growth.

4. EMU students demonstrate leadership in peer ministries and Christian service.

5. EMU students develop aptitude for discerning call/vocation.

6. EMU campus pastors, pastoral assistants and ministry assistants provide support services (pastoral care, nurture and encouragement).

7. EMU students develop a sense of personal value and belonging.

8. EMU campus community members experience university chapel, and other worship services, as beneficial to the spiritual atmosphere and sense of Christian community on campus.

UNIVERSITY CHAPEL MISSION STATEMENT

University Chapel nurtures members of the campus community in faith, hope and love as disciples of Jesus Christ. A community gathering place for worship and forum, university chapel reflects an Anabaptist/Mennonite perspective along side the diverse gifts, traditions and cultures of the broader Christian faith. (Chapel Task Force, January 2006)

The primary audience of university chapel is undergraduate students. Faculty and staff members are strongly encouraged to participate in chapel as models and mentors for the students. Students, faculty and staff members are expected to attend chapel at least once each week.
