Who may use the Fitness Center (including the Game Room and Open Gym)?
Anyone with an EMU student or EMU Fitness Center ID. The minimum age to use the Fitness Center is 14 years old. Students 14 or15 years of age must be directly supervised by a parent, legal guardian, or coach.
A Fitness Center ID also is good for access to scheduled open gym and the Game Room.
Guests
Guest passes can be purchased at the front desk. A 1-visit pass can be purchased for $5, or a 5-visit pass for $20.
Policies
- You must present an EMU student ID or Fitness Center membership
card to use the fitness center, game room or gym.
- The Fitness Center is closed for chapel during the school year on Wednesdays
and Fridays from 9:55 to 10:35 am.
- The Fitness Center has the right to deny access to any individual.
- Food and open drinks are prohibited in the gym, game room and fitness center.
However, feel free to bring water in a closed nonbreakable container in the
Fitness Center only.
- A parent, legal guardian, or coach must be directly supervising any youth
or dependent 14 or 15 years of age.
- Sandles and open toes shoes are not permitted in the Fitness Center. Shirts
must be worn at all times.
- Gym chalk is prohibited except in chalk socks in the free weight room.
- If you want your music ... we suggest you bring head phones.
- The track cannot accommodate "recreational wheels" (skateboards,
bikes, etc). However, we welcome strollers, walkers, wheelchairs and walking
aids.
- In order to recieve a free student membership, you must be enrolled full time at EMU with at least 12 undergraduate credit hours or 6 graduate credit hours in the current semester.
When using the fitness center:
- Please wipe down the machine and your seat when you finished. Towels and
cleaning bottles are provided throughout the center.
- Pick up a personal towel to use during your workout, but please place it
in the wash bin when your workout is finished.
- Return all free weights to their proper racks.
- Please limit your workout to 20 minutes if someone is waiting for a cardio machine (treadmills, bikes, etc).
