3:00-5:00 p.m. Identification cards – in the Library, this is your key to the resident hall

5:30 p.m. Dinner in Cafeteria – ground floor of Northlawn; meet the new international students and current international students that are on campus

6:30 p.m. Overview of emergency contacts & campus safety

6:45 p.m. Campus Tour (campus map)

9:00 a.m. Welcome – Introductions and sharing time

9:30 a.m. Practical Matters; Life at EMU – General overview of things at EMU

10:30 a.m. Understanding EMU CLC and US Laws

11:00 a.m. Crossing Paths Crossing Cultural – An overview on understanding American culture

11:30 a.m. Post Office box and Computer access – Learn about the campus post office, find your mail box, access EMU computer labs & wireless networks and access MYEMU account

12:00-1:00 p.m. Lunch in Dinning Hall for resident students; ground floor of North Lawn

1:00 p.m. Wellness Center – a short presentation on the wellness suite services, go over health forms, and what to do in case of a medical emergency

1:30 p.m. Business Office – a short presentation on services available regarding financial transactions and a brief explanation of Health Insurance in the US and its importance

2:00 p.m. Classroom Cultural; Being Successful – a general overview of the U.S. academic system, classroom dynamics, student expectations, academic advisers, professors, course registration, and student services

3:00 p.m. Shopping to Target – Purchase items you may need, i.e. bed sheets, pillows, personal items, etc.

5:00 p.m. Dinner in Dining Hall for resident students ground floor of North Lawn

7:30 p.m. International Student Reception in the Presidents Reception Room – A time to meet faculty, staff and returning international students

5:00 p.m. Dinner in town – Enjoy a local restaurant
