Suite Application Form and Process

If you are in good standing with the student life office and you are applying for a 4-person suite in Parkwood Apartments or Hillside Suites and at least 50 percent of your suitemates are either current Parkwood Apartment/Hillside residents, 21+ years old by 9/1/08 or have 90+ credits by 9/1/08, then you are eligible to fill out this abbreviated Form of Intent in order to experience early placement in Hillside.

If you are in good standing with the student life office and you are applying for a 2-person suite in Parkwood Apartments or Hillside, BOTH you and your suitemate must be current Parkwood Aparment/Hillside residents, at least 21 years old OR have 90+ credits by 9/1/08 to fill out the above Form of Intent. If your suite does not meet the above criteria, then ALL applicants must fill out the Residence Hall Suite Application.

Follow the instructions below:

  1. Read the general application and contract information section thoroughly.
  2. Print the entire packet.
  3. Complete the individual portion of the Suite Application Form (page 3).
  4. Complete the suitemates questionnaire as a group.
  5. Submit the FORMS OF INTENT to Kim Leichty AS A GROUP no later than January 25, 2008 to experience early placement in Hillside. Submit the RESIDENCE HALL SUITE APPLICATION forms and suitemates questionnaire to Kim Leichty AS A GROUP no later than February 15, 2008. Individual forms submitted seperately will not be considered.

Intentional Community Application Form and Process

  1. Download the Intentional Community Application of your choice (This requires Adobe Acrobat Reader which you can download free by clicking on the link).

  2. Read the general application information section thoroughly.
  3. Print the form.
  4. Submit the form no later than February 1, 2008.

Off-Campus Housing Form and Process

Because EMU believes that residence hall living fosters social and emotional development, it is required that all full-time single, undergraduate students live on campus. Students must submit forms (see table below) to request off-campus housing approval and document their elegibility during the semester prior to living off-campus. Please print and return form to residence life staff.

Enrolled before 1/10/2006?

You will need Form A (PDF).

Exemption may be given to students who meet one or more of the following criteria:

  1. Live with parents or legal guardians.
  2. Have earned a total of 90 semester hours before the beginning of the semester in which off-campus housing is requested.
  3. Are 21 years of age by September 1 of the year in which off-campus housing is requested.
  4. Need to reserve an apartment due to marriage plans within the semester.
  5. Require specialized care as prescribed by a medical doctor.

Enrolled after 8/1/2006?

You will need Form B (PDF).

Exemption may be given to students who meet one or more of the following criteria:

  1. Live with parents or legal guardians.
  2. Have earned a total of at least 90 semester hours of credit before fall semester registration day of the academic year in which off-campus housing is requested. (i.e., senior status) AND be at least 21 years of age by September 1 of the academic year in which off campus housing is requested.
  3. Be at least 24 years of age by September 1 of the academic year in which off campus housing is requested, regardless of credit hours earned.
  4. Need to reserve an apartment due to marriage plans within the semester.
  5. Require specialized care as prescribed by a medical doctor.
