General Information

What are your reasons for applying to the WCSC program? Which of its components most interest you? Describe your physical and mental health. Do you have any limitations that might affect your participation in the program?

During the fall and spring semesters, you will have the opportunity to take additional classes at either Catholic or Howard University.

Internship

WCSC staff will assist you in finding a successful internship. The information you list here will give us a starting place for doing so.

Describe the type of internship you would like to explore. Have you ever worked as an intern before? What kinds of skills would you like to develop? Who are the kinds of people you would like to work with/among? If you have a specific placement or agency of interest, include it in your answer.

Urban Culture

Describe any city or cross cultural experiences you’ve had before. What aspects of the city appeal to you? What things make you uneasy about living in the city?

Faith

What are the ways in which you presently express your spirituality? How has it changed since you came to college?

Group Life

What do you hope to receive from the group living experience? What do you have to give to the group? Is there anything about group living that makes you uneasy? What experiences have you had living with others?

Roommates

In the new facility, there’s a good chance you will be sharing a room with someone.

During the week in the morning:

• I have time to get dressed plus have an hour to study.
• I get up just in time to make it to class.

When I study in my room, I prefer:

• A study atmosphere as quiet as possible.
• A study atmosphere supplemented by music and occasional interruptions.

I will want to clean my room (vacuum, dust etc):

• Only when my parents or friends come to visit.
