Each year for the Honors program, students come up with a final project to perform and present to the rest of the class. Many students conducted their projects this past week.

The College Communicators Association of Virginia and the District of Columbia held their bi-annual conference on EMU’s campus Thursday and Friday, Nov. 6 and 7. One hundred and twelve people from 25 universities across Virginia and D.C. attended.

Horns echoed through the night as our two cars, packed full of young EMU students, raced to the intersection of 12th and U Street. It was a Tuesday night, almost Wednesday morning, and only moments earlier we had been mulling around the house when the news came across our fuzzy antenna broadcast: “Barack Obama is America’s new president.”

Over my four years at EMU, I have played a variety of our intramural sports. I have realized that there are varying degrees of intensity within intramural participants, many of whom reach excessive levels of intensity, especially in contact sports.

The women’s field hockey team finished another successful season last week with a victory on Wednesday November 5th against Washington & Lee and ODAC championship game on Saturday against Lynchburg.

After about a year’s hiatus, Atlanta rapper T.I. released his sixth studio album at the end of September. “Paper Trail” has been certified platinum; for the second week in a row, the first two singles “Live Your Life” and “Whatever You Like” sit in the #1 and #2 positions of the Billboard Hot 100 Chart.
