Danese Brokenshire

POSITION: Adjunct Faculty

DEPARTMENT: Lancaster RN to BS

Danese is currently serving as the Lead Nursing Faculty for Luzerne Community College at the Shamokin Campus. As a nurse for over 30 years, Danese’s experiences include roles as a Direct Care Nurse with extensive clinical experience in many specialty areas, Attending Nurse, Nurse Leader, Assistant Professor of Nursing, and Simulation Instructor & Coordinator.  Danese has been teaching nursing since 2006 which includes extensive online experience which is a passion for her. 

Dr. Brokenshire received her DNP from Carlow University in 2017, where her dissertation work was in the field of patient & family and healthcare satisfaction that received Telestroke Consultation Services.  She holds a master’s in nursing degree with a minor in nursing education from the University of Phoenix with strong organizational skills with class and program development.  Her bachelor’s degree in nursing is from Penn State University.  She began her nursing education in a diploma program at the Pottsville School of Nursing.  Danese is certified in Medical-Surgical Nursing and Perinatal Nursing.
