Obe Hostetter has taught 5th and 8th grade students in Rockingham County Public Schools. He won an award after only teaching 3 years for his technology integration skills in the classroom. Obe Hostetter was awarded the Region V Governor’s Innovative Technology in Education Award for 2003 after his technology portfolio was evaluated by a Blue Ribbon Panel appointed by Governor Mark Warner.
He has presented at several conferences including Virginia Department of Education (VDOE), Virginia Society for Technology in Education (VSTE), and the Regional Professional Development Insitute for Technology (RPDIT). He is best known for his SOL instructional technology websites and his Masters paper on “The Necessity of Incorporating Video Games as Part of Constructivist Learning.” In May 2007, he graduated with a Masters from Virginia Tech in Instructional Technology. Currently, he is an Instructional Technology Resource Teacher for Rockingham County as well as an adjunct professor for EMU.
