Dr. Good serves as the professor of Organizational Research (Module 6) and the Application of Research Project (Module 13) in the Leadership and Organizational Management (LOM) undergraduate adult degree program at EMU. He has served as an instructor in adult education at EMU since 2013. He believes in the importance of research to guide our actions and practice in our varying professional fields. He loves overseeing the capstone research project for the LOM program.
In addition to his role at EMU, Jason is the Director of Study Abroad of James Madison University. In this position he leads, administers and coordinates all study, intern and service abroad opportunities for the JMU community. He directs and leads the study abroad team on recruitment, enrollment and preparation of students for study abroad, as well as collaborating with academic departments to identify and develop study abroad opportunities for students. He is the faculty leader for several study abroad programs including internship programs in Berlin and Valencia and a service-learning program in the Dominican Republic.
Jason has a wide range of experience and expertise in higher education. Most recently to his current work in study abroad, he served as the Director of Admissions at Eastern Mennonite University (EMU). He has been a faculty leader for several university six-week EMU Cross Cultural programs to Spain and Honduras as well as having served as a faculty instructor of social research, cross-cultural learning, and Spanish.
A Washington, D.C. native, Jason completed his bachelor’s degree from EMU in Sociology and Environmental Science. He completed his master’s and doctorate in Hispanic Studies from the Universidad de Cádiz in Andalucía, Spain. His Spanish language dissertation researches the integration of immigrant students into educational systems, specifically analyzing how to welcome and retain underrepresented groups into our educational communities.
He is passionate about higher education and the importance of education in a global context. As an international educator he is a true believer that experiences with people and cultures different from our own are of vital significance to our progress as we strive to create accepting communities that value and affirm diversity.
