MA in Biomedicine
Be part of a two-year program designed to prepare postbaccalaureate students for the rigorous demands of professional health schools.
A unique program with a record of success
Our students often experience growth both academically and personally. Most students significantly increase their GPA while solidifying their foundational science knowledge, which allows them to increase their test scores for professional programs. As a result of the MA in Biomedicine program, students have been accepted into medical school, physician’s assistant, dental, and physical therapy programs.
Our faith-based approach and transdisciplinary studies make EMU’s biomedicine program unique. We use natural science courses as our core curriculum, and students immerse themselves in the physical, social, psychological and spiritual dimensions of biomedicine.
Integrative seminars and practicums add real-world, practical experience to this broad foundation, and cross-discipline requirements in social science and theological ethics accent the intersection of faith and science. A cross-cultural course experience challenges students to apply their biomedical learning in different cultural settings.
1:1 attention and guidance from faculty who are experts in their field help you excel and become prepared and confident members of the biomedical field.
A for-credit MCAT preparation course for pre-medical students is offered as an elective.
