Pastoral Care, Spiritual Formation
Mid Atlantic, Virginia, West Virginia
As a lay person in my congregation I have contributed to worship planning and have led Contemplative Prayer Groups and Silent Retreat days.
I have worked as an Occupational Therapist for 35+ years. In the last number of years I have noticed a restlessness in my career and realized that what gave me life were ministry opportunities in leading Contemplative prayer groups and worship, and pastoral care. I have been on a journey of participating in educational opportunities in these areas and hope to move into a ministry position. Discernment on this journey has included prayer and conversation with a circle of friends from my personal life, church and my Spiritual Director.
Ideal Ministry Situation
I hope to find a ministry situation that allows me to combine pastoral care and spiritual formation such as serving as a Chaplain or in a Pastoral Care position in a congregation.
I found course work in both Spiritual Formation and Clinical Pastoral Education places that challenged my spiritual and personal growth.
