Considering Seminary?
With master's degrees, dual degrees and certificates, EMS offers theological education options that are relevant for your journey. Some
students come to EMS on a clear pathway to traditional pastoral or chaplaincy vocations.
Others want to study theology and religion but don't see themselves in traditional
ministries. They are forming identities as activists, scholars, non-profit leaders
and community builders.
Together, we are an ecumenical community of learning grounded in the Anabaptist tradition
- a place to cultivate theological reflection, to discern and prepare for your vocation
based on your unique gifts and calling.
EMS is deeply invested in student formation. 93% of EMS courses are taught by continuing
(non-adjunct) faculty. Class sizes are small, with attention to each individual and
the relationships we form. You can choose to attend courses on-campus in Harrisonburg,
VA or synchronously online, participating in real time with professors and fellow
students. Join us as we learn and grow together!
