Penny holds a B.A. in Social Work from Eastern Mennonite University and an M. Div. from Eastern Mennonite Seminary with a concentration in Pastoral Care. She is ordained for ministry with Virginia Mennonite Conference and most recently she has received Supervisor status through the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education. Penny currently divides her time between Eastern Mennonite Seminary and Sentara RMH where she is a staff chaplain. At EMS Penny teaches Clinical Pastoral Education and is Director of Mentored Ministry.
Penny’s 20 years of experience in urban ministry in Hamilton, Ontario continues to shape her passion and love for the Church and its ministry. In the context of Clinical Pastoral Education, she has been discovering and developing gifts in supervision and education of students. Penny is energized by her own continuing education and greatly values this action/reflection process of learning which is modeled at Eastern Mennonite Seminary.
