Scholarships and Financial Aid
Scholarships are available for students who are not receiving assistance from an employer or agency.
HAL does have some internal scholarships available, though we are unable to fully fund any one student. However, students are generally able to fund their program-related expenses through a combination of sources, such as external and internal scholarships, federal student loans, organizational sponsorship and personal funds.
More information on federal student loans is available through the EMU Financial Aid office.
The Humanitarian Action Leadership program provides opportunity for financial assistance to full-time certificate students with demonstrated financial need. Scholarships for training go through separate awarding processes.
All certificate students in the Humanitarian Action Leadership program with demonstrated financial need may apply for need-based financial assistance (scholarships). Students will be considered if they apply by the November 1 deadline and submit a scholarship application form. Scholarship awards are only made once per year. The maximum amount of the scholarship award is $3,000.
1. Fill out the Scholarship Application Form
2. The scholarship committee will review applications and make awards based on the applicant’s estimate, and communicated to the student in the admissions letter.
3. The EMU Financial Aid office is notified to process the official award letter and appropriate amounts are reflected on the student account.
