About EMS Lancaster
Eastern Mennonite Seminary (EMS) in Lancaster is an accredited extension of Eastern Mennonite Seminary main campus in Harrisonburg, Virginia. EMS Lancaster offers a flexible array of non-traditional learning opportunities. Currently there are about:
- 43 students in the STEP Program
- 30 students in graduate degree or certificate programs
Seminary students can also take course online or at one of several collaborating seminaries in the region.
Location and facilities
EMS Lancaster is located in Lancaster, Pa. However classes are held at several locations across southeast Pennsylvania, including Philadelphia, Hatfield and Morgantown.
Mission, faith and values
EMS Lancaster shares the same mission statement as our main campus seminary: “EMS prepares men and women to serve and lead in a global context.” As part of Mennonite Church USA we adhere to the Confession of Faith in a Mennonite Perspective. Our theological framework guides our thinking about identity and vocation. Even though we are a seminary linked with Mennonite Church USA, we welcome various faith traditions and denominations in our classes.
