Jack Rutt graduated from EMU in 1972 with a degree in psychology and first worked for a small automobile insurance company for five years. In 1977 he joined several partners in the purchase of an office products store which launched his career in technology as a reseller of personal computers in the 1980’s. In the 1990’s he worked in the information systems departments of several health insurance companies and in 1999 accepted an invitation to return to EMU as Director of Information systems.
He is married to Gloria whom he met during his college days at EMU. They have two children who are also graduates of EMU and two granddaughters. Jack and Gloria enjoy bicycling and gardening projects. He is a member of Community Mennonite Church in Harrisonburg where he occasionally plays cello. They also enjoy traveling and regularly visit their son and his wife in Boston.

Ben Beachy received his bachelors degree from Eastern Mennonite University in 2002, after spending two years volunteering and providing technical support for non-profit organizations in southern Colorado. Also since 2002 he has worked for the university’s information system department in various capacities. He completed a masters degree in business administration in December 2009 and has helped his wife found Shenandoah Valley Community School, a non-profit alternative school in the pattern of the Sudbury Valley School. Beachy lives outside Harrisonburg with his wife, their son, and their various pets.

Steve Gibbs graduated from Eastern Mennonite University in 2004 with a major in Computer Science and minor in Youth Ministry after transferring from Rosedale Bible College. He has been part of Information Systems since 2007. He grew up in Cusco, Peru and is fluent in Spanish. Gibbs stays busy by volunteering at church with the Youth Group. He lives with his wife and son in Port Republic. He is also an avid sports fan. His favorite teams include the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles.

Jenni Piper received her bachelors degree from Eastern Mennonite University in 1992. She began working at EMU in the Admissions Office in 1994 processing inquiries. After a couple years she moved into the role of Office Manager. In 1999, she took a break from working at EMU but returned in 2000 to work in the Information Systems department. In her current role of Associate Director of Technology Services she manages a team of eight techs who provide customer service and support for all the technology at EMU.

After graduation from EMU, Mike worked as a software developer for Bell Telephone Laboratories, Church of the Brethren National Board, the University of Illinois, CMDS (now Jenzabar), and Mary Baldwin College.
Mike and his wife Julie Alderfer Stauffer, also an EMU graduate, live in Harrisonburg.
