EMU Counseling Services provide a comprehensive program including individual and group counseling, assessment and referral, support groups, and educational programs. For those students seeking counseling, EMU provides a benefit of one initial evaluation and up to seven sessions at no charge. Additional counseling sessions needed after the eight will be assessed by the counselor and student and can be provided at a cost of $15 per session or a referral may be made to a local professional depending on the student's needs.
Counseling sessions are provided in the Counseling Services office in the Wellness Suite on the second floor of the University Commons unless otherwise arranged. Referrals may be made to local professionals in the community for more extensive or long-term therapy.
Scheduling an appointment can be arranged through the Wellness Suite Office Coordinator at (540) 432-4317.
