Mark has taught guitar privately since 1983. In addition to having previously taught at James Madison University and Bridgewater College, he is currently on the faculty of Blue Ridge Community College as well as Eastern Mennonite University where he teaches guitar, jazz improvisation and directs the university jazz ensemble. Mark is also a member of Kaman Music’s Key Player Program. He has studied with some of the most respected and influential guitarists in the country including Andrew York, Tim Reynolds, John Abercrombie and Vic Juris.
Mark’s work has also been featured in various music publications and websites including Guitarchalk.com, Americana Rhythm and Singer & Musician Magazine where his articles focused on theoretical and technical issues as they related specifically to fingerstyle and jazz guitarists.
