Mary Ann (Hostetter) Shisler is a native of Millersville, PA. She moved to Syracuse, NY, for a Mennonite Voluntary Service assignment and made Syracuse her home until 2005 when she came to EMU. She brings with her a varied background including administrative assistant positions at Bristol Myers Corporation and the Northeast Synod of the Presbyterian Church. She completed her master’s degree in library science at Syracuse University and held professional librarian positions at the Onondaga Indian Reservation and Syracuse City Schools. In 2005 she came to EMU as a Reference & Instruction Librarian. She enjoys teaching and learning with students and faculty to help solve information problems and is continually looking for new ways to engage folks in reading and learning. She enjoys rollerblading, traveling, and spending time with her husband, Kirk, and two teenage sons, Ben and Andy.
