Susan Landes Beck

Susan Landes Beck, MSW, LCSW is Marketing Manager for the Practice Institute. She holds a Masters in Social Work from Western Michigan University. She began her career developing violence prevention, mediation and conflict transformation programs for schools and organizations and later served as the Executive Director of the Violence Intervention Project. As an experienced mediator and facilitator, she went on to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and provide psychotherapy to individuals and groups coping with trauma and various mental health needs. She began several marriage education programs, including “Smart Marriages” as an alternative model to help persons manage conflict in relationships. Susan also served as the Director of Counseling at Goshen College. In each position Susan has held she has enjoyed the challenge of marketing programs and services to meet real needs. She says “We live in an environment in which human needs are huge and escalating, while resources are constrained and shrinking. Human service organizations have a responsibility to develop sound marketing strategies to effectively meet human need while being conscientious stewards of the organization’s resources, mission and capabilities.” Susan lives in Harrisonburg, VA with her husband and two daughters.
