My cross cultural experience:

I went to New Zealand and Fiji on my cross cultural. It was amazing to experiance a South Pacific culture and I learned a lot. My favorite aspects of the trip were living in an indigenous fijian village seperated from the outside world, learning about New Zealand’s orignal inhabitants the Maori, and studying women in politics in New Zealand.

My favorite intramural season:

My favorite intramural season is football season. I am a referee so I don’t actually play, but I get to meet more people that way. I love watching football so it is fun for me to see it played and be a part of it. I also really enjoy indoor and outdoor soccer seasons which I play.

My favorite residence hall:

This may sound weird to many, but I LOVE Northlawn. I lived in Northlawn my first three years at EMU and never got tired of it. There are so many perks: quiet time when you need it, indoor access to the cafeteria, modern bathrooms, carpet, air conditioning, and a great RA Nan! Don’t believe the myth about Northlawn being an awful place to live…. I love it.

My favorite class at EMU (and why):

Any History class with Mark Metzler Sawin as a professor. Come to EMU, take one of his classes, and you will see why. They are awesome! Even those of you who don’t like History will love it.

My favorite EMU memory so far:

My favorite experiance here has been student teaching. We have an amazing education program here at EMU and I felt extremely confident and comfortable in my teaching.
