My favorite class at EMU (and why):

All of my business classes are fantastic! As an accounting major, I have taken many different courses pertaining to that. In all of them my professors have been awesome and answered questions that don’t just sick to the subject matter at hand. They will go far beyond what is even asked of them. My favorite class right now is Intermediate Accounting. Leah Kratz, the professor, takes time to answer questions about the CPA exam even though she doesn’t need to!

My favorite EMU memory so far:

When I flew back after Thanksgiving break, I brought my mom’s video camera with me. For the three weeks inbetween Thanksgiving and Christmas break, my friends and I filmed everything that we did. I uploaded it onto my computer and ripped a DVD over the break then. Coming back for the spring semester and sitting down and watching the hour long movie is a great memory of mine. Whenever we get bored, we just pop in that DVD!

My favorite intramural season:

My favorite intramural season has most definitely been the one that we are in currently, volleyball. While my team may not be the best, we still have an amazing time every game! Everyone on the team has a great time and we enjoy the game even if we lose, which so far has been a lot! I would definitely highly suggest getting involved in an intramural even if you don’t play the sport. After all, I am on a team of 12 and not one of us has ever played volleyball before!

My favorite residence hall:

My favorite residence is Elmwood. I did live there and loved the environment. Cindy, their resident director, is amazing and likes being our mom. Being able to run downstairs and hang out with all of my friends was so nice. The attitude is just superb! I currently live in Roselawn though and do not mind it as much as I thought I was going to. It’s a completely different environment but one that has been very helpful for my studying habits!

The most surprising thing about EMU:

I was very surprised by how even the whole Mennonite and non-Mennonite issue was. I was expecting to come to school with lots of Mennonites and instead I have friends from every denomination. I would highly suggest not throwing EMU out simply because you know it’s a Mennonite college. That’s what I almost did and I would have regretted it for the rest of my life.

My favorite campus activity:

My friends and I have done so much, I can’t even think about what has been the best. We love going to common grounds and hanging out. Going and supporting the athletic teams always creates wonderful memories too. Staying up late (meaning past 2:00) and having all those wonderful “talks” that you just know you’re going to treasure (which, in the morning, you can barely remember them) is a favorite activity of mine also.
