what parents say
“EMU is a great value when compared to tuition, room and board as an in-state student at a state-affiliated university. What first appears as lower cost can actually be even more expensive in the end. More important than affordability is employment. Our daughter had several job interviews in early June, accepted a position at Augusta Health by mid June and started employment July 6.”

Welcome, EMU Parents!
We’re thrilled to welcome you to our campus and community, and we want to engage you in the programs and development of EMU. None of what we do could happen without you.
We know that parents’ number one concern is the safety of their student. If you would like to register your cell phone to receive EMU emergency alerts that are sent out to all subscribers via the e2campus system, you may have your student register your number when they log in and sign up for the alerts. Please be in touch with your student to discuss registering your number.

Your child’s success after college
Our goal at EMU is to prepare your student to launch into life beyond college as a healthy, whole young adult, who is prepared not only academically, but also emotionally, spiritually and physically for life.
Because of EMU’s attention to the whole self, EMU graduates are preferred by both employers and grad schools. In fact, just under 90% of EMU grads find work or pursue further education in their field of choice within a year of graduation.
- 95% of EMU grads who apply to medical school are accepted, far above the national average.
- Acceptance rate for all health sciences – veterinary school, dental, etc. – is 93%.
- Nearly 100% of teacher education grads are employed as teachers within six months of graduation.
- 94% of EMU nursing grads pass their state boards (NCLEX-RN) on the first try.
Your child’s success in life
It’s hard to put a price tag on a college education, especially one that prepares students for life in so many ways.
EMU grads live out their values, too. In a recent alumni survey, 69% of grads say they volunteer regularly in their church or community, and 44% participate in mission and service assignments. EMU President Loren Swartzendruber says ‘an EMU education is most effective with students who have been nurtured by families and congregations with similar values.’
