What does the student activity fee cover?

The student activity fee funds Student Government Association-approved student clubs, activities, student publications, on-campus speakers, films, dances, recreational sports, and more.

WWhat is there to do on weekends?

On campus, various student groups and the Campus Activities Council (CAC) plan a variety of social and recreational events throughout the year: films, contemporary Christian concerts, recreational sports, dances, bowling, theme nights, etc. The university also has a full season of fine arts events, all available to students. The city of Harrisonburg offers a wide variety of restaurants, movies, plays, concerts, shopping, sports and special events.

WWhat is the drug and alcohol policy on campus?

“Recognizing that EMU supports nonuse of alcohol and tobacco, I will respect and abide by the university policy that prohibits the use of alcohol and tobacco on campus or at university functions and the misuse of alcohol off campus.” (from the Community Lifestyle Commitment adopted by the Board of Trustees (2001) and signed by each student prior to admission.)

The drug and alcohol policies at EMU are further described and detailed in the Student Handbook.
