Eight years after graduating from Eastern Mennonite University, Erik Kratz finally got the call he wanted - the call to the big leagues. Kratz, who still holds 21 season or career records at EMU, has patiently worked his way through baseball's minor leagues before getting his big call during Wednesday's Triple-A All-Star game in Allentown, Pa., just 45 minutes from his hometown in Telford, Pa. Sophomore Dylan Smith won the ODAC batting title and was named to the VaSID All-State Second Team.
Eastern Mennonite University catcher Dylan Smith has been named Second Team All-State by the Virginia Sports Information Directors Association (VaSID). In his sophomore season, Smith won the Old Dominion Athletic Conference batting title with a .458 average and was named All-ODAC Second Team. He also led the ODAC with a .538 on-base percentage boosted by 11 walks and a team-high eight times being hit by a pitch. (Jul 2) [More]
