Eastern Mennonite University has announced the resignation of cross country and track & field coach, Matt Dougherty, effective at the end of May. Dougherty was hired last summer as EMU's first combined head coach of the two sports, but he and his wife/assistant coach, Mary, are resigning with plans to move closer to their families. While it's been a rocky (or perhaps, snowy) indoor track season, the Eastern Mennonite women are starting to pick up some steam. Mostly, the key is simply repetitions and just getting time in an actual indoor arena. With a second straight weekend of winter weather forecasted, Eastern Mennonite has cancelled its participation in the Vince Brown Invitational hosted by Christopher Newport on Saturday.
