With only three upperclassmen on the 13-man roster last year, the Eastern Mennonite men's volleyball team finished 11-15 and narrowly missed the North East Collegiate Volleyball Association Tournament. Despite finishing 4-2 in the Western Division of the North East Collegiate Volleyball Association, the Eastern Mennonite men's volleyball just missed out on receiving an at-large big to the 2010 NECVA Tournament, which will be played April 9-11 in Cape Cod, Mass. After being named Second Team All-Western Division as a junior, Justin Reesor was given First Team honors in his final season at EMU.
Eastern Mennonite University men's volleyball senior Justin Reesor has been named First Team NECVA All-Western Division. Reesor led the Royals in total blocks, block assists and hitting percentage in his final season at EMU. He will also graduate this spring with the school record for career blocks. The Eastern Mennonite men's volleyball team played at Mount Olive Wednesday night to close out the regular season and came away with a 3-0 loss to the Conference Carolinas champs. Freshman Chris Moise led the Royals with 16 kills in their loss to Nazareth.
The freshmen led the way, but Eastern Mennonite came up short after taking a 2-0 lead in the quarterfinals of the NECVA West Tournament Friday night. The Royals dropped a five set match to Nazareth College by scores of 26-30, 33-35, 30-19, 30-26, 15-9. The loss drops EMU into the 5th/6th place match Saturday morning at 10:00am.
