This year marks Barbara Showalter Josenhans’ 14th season at the Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival in her hometown of Harrisonburg, Virginia. She is also a member of the Wintergreen Summer Music Festival Orchestra in Nelson County, Virginia. Barbara is principal horn in the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra (Owensboro, KY) and plays fourth horn in the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra (Evansville, IN). As a soloist, Ms Josenhans has appeared with the Evansville Philharmonic, the Maryland Symphony, and the Bach Festival Orchestra. She has previously held positions with the Abilene, Roanoke, Maryland and Annapolis Symphony Orchestras. She has served on the faculties of Abilene Christian University, McMurry University, and Hardin-Simmons University. Ms Josenhans holds degrees from Goshen College and the Eastman School of Music. She currently resides in Newburgh, Indiana with her husband and two children.
