Carol McQuown Warner holds a Bachelor of Music degree in flute performance from West Virginia University and a Master of Music Education degree from James Madison University. She currently works as a Certified Pharmacy Technician at Sunnyside Pharmacy in Harrisonburg. She previously taught flute in the Preparatory Music Department at Eastern Mennonite University, and has performed with the Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival Orchestra since 1993. She has also performed with the Shenandoah Symphony, the Shenandoah Valley Choral Society and Rockbridge Choral Society orchestras. Her principal teachers were Kay Borkowski and Mary Krusenstjerna at WVU and James Pellerite at the Chautauqua Institute. She has studied in master classes with Geoffrey Gilbert in Deland, Florida, and with Eleanor Lawrence in Chatham, Massachusetts. Carol has published five arrangements for flute choir and two SATB choral compositions.
