Oboist Kevin Piccini is a native of Rochester, New York, where he attended the Eastman School of Music and studied with Robert Sprenkle, Principal Oboist with the Rochester Philharmonic. Piccini is also a graduate of the Yale University School of Music and studied with Ronald Roseman, Principal Oboist with the New York Woodwind Quintet. In addition, he has studied privately with members of the Buffalo, Boston and Philadelphia orchestras. Before coming to the Hampton Roads area, he was an active freelance oboist in the New York City area. As an instructor he has taught at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, the Armed Forces School of Music and the Governor’s School of the Arts, both in Norfolk, VA. Piccini is a busy freelance oboist in the Tidewater region and has played with many of the areas ensembles, including the Virginia Symphony and the Williamsburg Symphonia. He lives in Hampton with his wife Sara and their dog Sophie.
