Restorative Justice on Campus
On March 15-18, 2010, the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding (CJP) hosted a Symposium on Restorative Justice in Campus Conduct Administration
Over 70 administrators from 20 colleges and universities participated in the March 15 event which featured Dr. Howard Zehr, (CJP at Eastern Mennonite University, Dr. David Karp (Skidmore College), Shay Bright (Colorado State University), and Dr. Josh Bacon (James Madison University.) Participants gained familiarity with restorative justice principles and models and discovered how they are applied in a campus conduct setting.
March 16-18 was dedicated to “Implementing Restorative Justice in Campus Conduct Administration”. Registration was limited to 30 participants who came from seven different campuses in the U.S. and Canada. Participants left with the knowledge and skills to implement restorative justice principles and/or programs into their own campus conduct or judicial system.
