Jim Wallis to speak on
campus
Jim Wallis,
executive director
of Sojourners, will
speak in Lehman
Auditorium, Feb. 21, 2006 at 7 p.m. In
1995, Wallis was instrumental in forming
Call to Renewal, a national federation of
churches, denominations and faith-based
organizations from across the theological
and political spectrum working to
overcome poverty.
Wallis was invited by
the Student Lecture Series Committee
(SLSC), a student-initiated, student-run
group founded in 2004 to enhance the
intellectual climate of EMU by bringing speakers to campus who will challenge
students and give them another
perspective.
The Student Lecture Series is a student-initiated endeavor to bring well- known speakers on campus to address socially relevant issues. Sponsorship for this event comes in part from Student Government Association, The Lilly Project and the Shenandoah Anabaptist Science Society.
For more information, e-mail studentlectureseries@emu.edu. The lecture is open to everyone, and the committee suggests a $5 donation at the door.
