" I guess I'll try to get sleep next weekend!"

Me with my sister and some friends hanging out in a dorm room
My sister came to visit this weekend. She came as a perspective student. Since she was here for the honors weekend she was officially going to stay with my neighbor, but she ended up staying with me. I enjoyed the time very much.

My sister noticed a lot of dorm life that I haven't been noticing. A group of us sat in the Maplewood lounge and talked for hours until 2 in the morning. People would drop in and talk for a while and then leave and some of us just stayed there the whole time. Living together with so many people the same age gives us a lot of opportunity to hang out together. We "solve" the worlds problems and each other's in an evening when we're together· well it seems like we do.

On Saturday my sister returned home and I caught up on the sleep I missed. Then on Saturday night a bunch of us stayed up late again playing euchre. Earlier a few of us went out to an inexpensive restaurant, which had really good food. Harrisonburg has some amazing places to eat, especially cross-cultural kinds of restaurants. I was full of Indian food all weekend, and it felt wonderful.

On Sunday I fought off the lack of sleep during church. The message was very relevant and Sunday school tied right into that so it wasn't a hard task to stay awake. A little boy from out congregation was very friendly to In the evening I got together with my cross-cultural group. We shared our memories from traveling to Africa this summer and had a good time together.

Sharing a bit of my college life with my sister and then getting together with my cross-cultural friends was a great way to regain energy for the week. I guess I'll try to get the sleep next weekend!
