Semi-Formal

February 15, 2006

So, I have been back to school now for about six weeks and let me tell you, I am in need of a break. It is not because this semester is harder then last semester for in fact it is the same or better it is mainly because six weeks is the longest I have ever gone without being home or seeing my parents. And yes, at 19 I will admit that I am homesick especially since I am now sick with a cold and sore throat. It it at times like this that you realize that even though you love college and all its independence you still miss the hugs from your parents, your mom's chicken corn soup to ease a sore throat and your dad washing and filling up your car with gas . So, since I last wrote I and about ten of my friends went to EMU's winter semi-formal dance. It was lots of fun and we girls loved it for it gave us a good excuse to dress up and we also got a gourmet meal for five dollars. Yep, you read that right we got to eat a four course meal and get dressed up and have dancing with a DJ all for five dollars. It was held at the Holiday Inn, which is a 10 min drive from campus. The whole experience was fun and for a good meal for five dollars, you just can't beat that. Anyways I hope you too are having a good year and staying warm during these winter months. Till I write again God bless and keep safe. Speaking about being safe let me just tell you that while I was writing this we had a fire drill at 7 at night........my one friend was in the shower, and another was watching a movie all comfortable. What can I say its college ya just gotta experience it.

be you
