POSITION: Admissions Counselor

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree is required. Must have excellent communication skills-written and verbal, strong with public speaking, attention to detail, and an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Being a team player with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, enthusiasm, energy, and creativity are needed. Customer service oriented. Must be committed to recruiting a diverse and qualified class of new and transfer students.

Special Requirements: A valid driver’s license and a good driving record are required. This position requires extensive travel, a willingness to work evenings and weekends, and flexibility.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for managing a recruitment/marketing territory and recruitment of new students. The responsibilities include recruitment of a targeted number of prospective students from an assigned territory, review applications and following up with candidates, telecounseling, direct mail recruitment, and interviews and tours prospective students and their families. This position represents Eastern Mennonite University on and off campus.

RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of Admissions

POSITION DETAILS : 12-Month, Full-time position. Remuneration and benefits commensurate with experience and in accordance with the administrative pay scale.

BEGINNING DATE: November 1, 2010
