POSITION: Instructional Services Librarian
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: MLS degree required. Graduate degree in another discipline highly desirable, with a preference for studies in composition and rhetoric.
Experience: Experience in a college or university library desired.
Special Skills: Teaching skills; technical expertise in database searching and web tools; and strong collaborative and interpersonal skills essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES: This position provides leadership for EMU’s instructional program and development of teaching tools; reference functions; and collection development.
POSITION DETAILS:
Twelve-month, full-time position. Remuneration and benefits commensurate with education and experience.
BEGINNING DATE: Immediately

The library serves undergraduate, graduate and seminary programs. The library collection includes almost 170,000 books and over 800 print periodicals. Through vendors such as JSTOR, EBSCO, Gale and others, the library has access to numerous online resources. The library has access to ebooks through NetLibrary, Cambridge and Oxford. The library’s website at http://www.emu.edu/library/ lists the many resources available to the EMU community. The library participates in the Virtual Library of Virginia (VIVA), a resource sharing arrangement that allows the library to have broader access to expensive online resources. Special features include an extensive and scholarly research library for studies in Anabaptist and Mennonite history and thought. The Menno Simmons Historical Library contains rare and valuable 16 th and 17 th century Anabaptist and Mennonite works along with more current books and journals.
