Department of ... The Graduate Program in Conflict Transformation of the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding

POSITION: Continuing faculty position in a graduate program in Conflict Transformation, teaching Conflict Analysis, Public Policy and Peacebuilding.

QUALIFICATIONS: Earned doctorate in conflict transformation or a related discipline. Experience in teaching or extensive training in public policy from both a domestic and international perspective and in conflict analysis and resolution.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaching graduate level courses to a diverse student body in conflict analysis, conflict transformation, within a peacebuilding framework. In addition this person should be able to teach the dynamics of peace processes and how these processes tie to public policy advocacy and development. Design, monitoring and evaluation of peacebuilding programs are additional areas of expertise that are preferred.

POSITION DETAILS: Three-fourth time, nine-month contract. Salary and rank determined by education and experience. EMU uses an extended-contract system.

The Graduate Program in Conflict Transformation of the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding (CJP) offers a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Conflict Transformation and a Graduate Certificate in Conflict Transformation with specializations in Restorative Justice, Trauma Healing, Organizational Leadership, Peacebuilding, and Development. The program has approximately 100 students (50 on campus at any one time) working toward the master’s degree or graduate certificate. The program also has more than 300 alumni living and working in more than 50 countries. Although CJP is rooted in the historic Mennonite peace church tradition, we support individuals and institutions of diverse religious and philosophical backgrounds in the creation of a just and peaceful world.
