Launch of IC3

Several institutions in Vietnam and the United States are to pilot their use of IC3 materials. In Vietnam and the United States, experimental and control classes at the university and high school levels will test the effectiveness of this approach to inter-cultural, language, and development studies. The home base for introducing these materials and maintaining the website is Eastern Mennonite University (www.emu.edu/ic3). In addition, the Vietnamese base is An Giang University (http://www.agu.edu.vn).

In addition, an international education non-governmental organization, Future Generations (www.future.org), is to test the usefulness of this curriculum for its incoming Master’s degree students in Applied Community Change and Conservation. As Future Generations convenes its next class of thirty leader/scholars from all corners of the planet to study concepts, methods, and best practices in development, it will use IC3 as a means for language equity and skill-building.

Other possible participating institutions in September include universities, high schools, and NGOs in Iran, Thailand, and Hong Kong.
