EMU Archives

The EMU Archives collaborates with the Menno Simons Historical Library to provide services to patrons. Under this arrangement, the Historical Library, located on the third floor of Hartzler Library, is the point of contact for patrons of the university archives. The Historical Library also serves as the reading room for the university archives.

Simone Horst, Special Collections Librarian, whose office is in the Historical Library, is available to assist researchers in identifying the archival records they need. Staff then retrieve those records and transport them to the Historical Library/Reading Room. Researcher access the identified archival records in this location.

Please note that Special Collections staff make EMU archival records available by retrieving them and bring them to the third floor reading room for patrons to access. Given the time needed to identify, locate and transport specific records, persons seeking access to archival holdings should contact Simone Horst, Special Collections Librarian, at least one week before coming to campus.
