Undergraduate science course program requirements (or equivalents)

Biomedical Science Track

For full admission to graduate status, students must have completed (35 SH):

  • Two general biology courses with laboratories (8 SH)
  • Two general chemistry courses with laboratories (8 SH)
  • Two organic chemistry courses with laboratories (8 SH)
  • Two general physics courses with laboratories (8 SH)
  • One mathematics course (Calculus) (3 SH)

Biomedical Leadership Track

For full admission to graduate status, students must have completed (23 SH):

  • Two general biology courses with laboratories (8 SH)
  • Two general chemistry courses with laboratories (8 SH)
  • One organic chemistry course with laboratory (4 SH) OR
  • One general physics course with laboratory (4 SH)
  • One mathematics course (calculus) (3 SH)

Biomedical Teaching Track

For full admission to graduate status, students must have completed (27 SH):

  • Two general biology courses with laboratories (8 SH)
  • Two general chemistry courses with laboratories (8 SH)
  • One organic chemistry course with laboratory (4 SH)
  • One general physics course with laboratory (4 SH)
  • One mathematics course (calculus) (3 SH)

Students who are deficit in some of these requirements may be enrolled as graduate students and take requisite courses on a graduate level.

For provisional admission to graduate status for any of the tracks of study, students must have completed (19 SH):

  • Two general biology courses with laboratories (8 SH)
  • Two general chemistry courses with laboratories (8 SH)
  • One mathematics course (pre-calculus)(3 SH)

Students who are deficit in any of these courses will be required to enroll as undergraduate students and complete them with a satisfactory grade of B prior to obtaining graduate status.

Admitted students simultaneously taking graduate and undergraduate courses will pay graduate tuition for all courses. All undergraduate course requirements or their equivalents will need to be completed prior to receiving either a graduate degree or certificate.

A maximum of 8 SH of graduate courses, taken to fulfill requisite program entrance requirements, can be applied to the MA in Biomedicine program degree or certificate when grades of B or better are earned.
