How do I make a single space between lines?
Dreamweaver automatically inserts a double space when you hit enter (return). To get a single space, hit shift-return.
-
What font am I supposed to use?
None! Use normal/default font and size so that you are not overriding the defaults we have set up The font face and size fields are located in the properties toolbar, usually at the bottom of the screen. (Find your properties box by clicking on "Window" and "Properties.")

How do I create a new page?
The easiest way to create a new page is to do a save as within an existing document. This way you keep the header and footer as a template for your new page. To do this:
- Open any recent page. You might choose your index.html page.
- Click on File/Save as. Give the document a new name. Example: new.html
- Delete the old content and enter the new content.
- When your new page is ready to test, save and close (you can click on the X in the upper right hand corner and choose "yes" when it asks if you want to save changes.)
- Post the new page to the server via the green/blue arrows. (The blue arrow "puts" your files on the server, and the green arrow "gets" files from the server.
- Check out how the new page looks by going to a browser and typing in the URL.
- If you see changes you want to make, open the document again, make the changes, save and repost to the server
- When the page looks correct online, link to it from other pages, like your index page, or let know you need a new link on the left column of links.

Can I add photos or other graphics?
We encourage graphic images on the EMU web site. If you have experience manipulating photos, you can read about specifications as to image size and other details in our online web standards guide.
If you have photos to scan or digital images relevant to your site, but do not have software or know-how to post on your own, please contact the marketing and communications department for assistance at -
I want to see how popular my pages are. How do I do that?
The best way to do that is to ask for a statistics report from the web applications team in the IS department. Ben Beachy heads the group. You can also ask for a list of broken links on your pages!
