Editorial
Images and Graphics
-
Open Dreamweaver and select "Remote View " in the drop-down box above the file list (usually on the right side of the page, under the 'Files" tab).
Navigate to the page/file you want to update. You will find the URL in the address bar at the top of your browser window.
A typical URL is www.emu.edu/admissions/soar.html.
To get to this page, a curator would open the soar.html file within the main admissions folder in their list of files.-
Select the file by clicking on it once.
-
Click the green arrow
(which points down) at the top of the file list in order to download the most recent copy of that page from the web server. -
Once Dreamweaver has grabbed the newest copy of the file, double-click on the file to open it.
-
Use the Properties toolbar (usually at the bottom of the Dreamweaver screen) to edit your text.
- To add a link, select the words you want visitors to click on and then type the destination URL or file name, in the Link field in the toolbar.
- The bold and italics features operate as they do in Microsoft Word; highlight the text and click the appropriate icon to turn the feature on and off.
- Use the Format drop-down box to select a heading size: paragraph, or headings 1 (big) through 4 (small).
When you have made your changes, click the Save icon in the upper left on the Dreamweaver screen.
Then, click the green / blue arrow icon and select "PUT" in order to put the edited file on the web server for all to see.
