New JustPeace Books
In addition to the Little Book series CJP faculty and alumni have produced a half dozen other books in the last few years as guides to peacebuilding – books often translated into multiple languages.
Recent works include:
- Towards Understanding Pukhtoon Jirga, by Hassan M. Yousufzai,
MA ’03, and Ali Gohar, MA ’02, focuses on Pakistan’s
traditional process of resolving conflict and building peace. It’s
available through www.justpeaceint.cjb.net.
- The Moral Imagination: The Art and Soul of Building Peace, by
John Paul Lederach, founding director of CJP, SPI professor, and
professor of international peacebuilding at Notre Dame, weaves
together storytelling, metaphors, science, and conflict-analysis
theory.
- From Conflict to Collaboration: Building Peace in Nigeria’s Oil-Producing Communities, by Austin Onuoha, MA ’04, is based on Onuoha’s vast experience in dealing with conflict in his home country of Nigeria, which is one of the largest producers of crude oil in the world.
