The Discovery Room

Museum of Natural History
Jim Yoder, museum curator and associate professor of biology at EMU, involves a visiting class of students in a nature exhibit.

Visit us now for lots of hands-on activities and workshops! This room, formerly the Brackbill Planetarium, is full of artifacts from the collection that can be handled and observed (including animal and bird skins, bones and skulls, shark jaws, preserved invertebrates, fossils, and rocks and minerals).

It also has aquariums and herbariums with live animals for observation (including Chesapeake Bay inhabitants, saltwater fish, crabs, tree frogs, turtles and more).
