Bridgebuilders Grant
EMS prepares students to serve and lead the Mennonite church and it’s growing Hispanic population. In the 2009-2010 academic year, EMS is offering up to 3 full-tuition scholarships for bilingual Spanish/English speakers who are interested in ministry in the Mennonite Church.
Qualified applicants will meet admissions requirements of EMS and show:
- Aptitude in English as measured by the TOEFL exam.
- Aptitude in Spanish as measured by the DELE exam.
- Willingness to serve in bilingual settings during seminary
- Interest in serving the larger Mennonite church bilingually.
EMS will provide the following means of support for accepted students:
- Tutoring for papers written in English or Spanish
- A bilingual gathering for prayer, reflection and encouragement
- Connection to Hispanic Educators through MEA
- Support from local Hispanic Mennonite pastors
- Connection with EMU’s multicultural services office
