Bridgebuilders Grant

EMS prepares students to serve and lead the Mennonite church and it’s growing Hispanic population. In the 2009-2010 academic year, EMS is offering up to 3 full-tuition scholarships for bilingual Spanish/English speakers who are interested in ministry in the Mennonite Church.

Qualified applicants will meet admissions requirements of EMS and show:

  • Aptitude in English as measured by the TOEFL exam.
  • Aptitude in Spanish as measured by the DELE exam.
  • Willingness to serve in bilingual settings during seminary
  • Interest in serving the larger Mennonite church bilingually.

EMS will provide the following means of support for accepted students:

  • Tutoring for papers written in English or Spanish
  • A bilingual gathering for prayer, reflection and encouragement
  • Connection to Hispanic Educators through MEA
  • Support from local Hispanic Mennonite pastors
  • Connection with EMU’s multicultural services office
