Resources
Attend a training workshop for VMC congregations on "Gather 'Round", the newest curriculum from Faith & Life Press and Brethren Press, providing Christian education material for youth and parents.
The CRC is a lending library which seeks to enhance and equip the ministries of the church. Patrons may use the CRC to peruse and preview items before making purchases.
Churches may borrow items for small groups, Christian education of all ages, creative children and youth programming, spiritual formation practices, worship and sermon preparation, drama and music.
Books, curriculum, vacation bible school kits, magazines, articles, hymnals, videos/DVDs, and music are all important materials in the CRC.
Congregations occasionally co-purchase materials with the CRC which are later used by other congregations and patrons. This has benefited both the congregation and the CRC when purchasing video series and other expensive resources.
Spiritual Direction
Spiritual direction is available for the local community through the CRC. Those interested in receiving spiritual direction should contact Kevin Clark at clarkka@emu.edu or call him at (540) 432-4217. A form to request spiritual direction is also available in the CRC.
John Coffman Center
The John Coffman Center at EMS , named for one of the forerunners of mission and evangelistic ministries in the Mennonite Church in the late 19th century, provides resources specifically geared toward developing missional leaders. The center assists students, congregations and mission agencies in missional development through seminars, teaching and material resources.
The Coffman library hosts a variety of books, videos and other materials related to mission, outreach, urban and multi-cultural learning. Linford Stutzman, associate professor of culture and mission and director for the Coffman Center, is available for individual and group consultation.
